3M in China

In November 1984, 3M China Co., Ltd. was incorporated and was the first wholly foreign-owned enterprise established outside the Special Economic Zone. As of 2013, it invested more than RMB 9.2 billion in China.


3M has invested more than US$1.5 billion in China (as of 2013). At present, 3M has established 12 companies, 11 production bases, 27 offices, 4 technical centers, and 1 R&D center in China with more than 8,200 employees.


3M's offices are located in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Suzhou, Shenyang, Chengdu, Wuhan, Fuzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Chongqing, Xi'an, Kunming, Dalian, Urumqi, Zhengzhou, Xiamen, Jinan, Ningbo. , Wuxi, Changchun, Changsha, Hefei, Taiyuan, etc.


3M was recognized by China earlier in the early 1980s. At that time, many of the disks used to store data were products of 3M. The large-scale "brand promotion" was during the "SARS" in the spring and summer of 2003, and the N95 mask produced by 3M Company became a collective memory of people.
